PAULINE DUMVILLE – HYPNOTHERAPY

How does it work?

Problems that are stored at a deep level within our minds are able to have an important effect on the way we live our lives although we may not be aware of what these problems are.

The hypnotherapist induces a deeply relaxed state in the patient and thereby gains access to the unconscious mind and the problems that are stored there.

Using a variety of techniques, the therapist is able to tailor the treatment to suit the particular needs of the patient.  Although in hypnotherapy the patient is in a deeply relaxed state, he or she is still in control and is able to hear what the therapist is saying at all times.

My Training

I trained as a clinical hypnotherapist with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis at the University of Central England in Birmingham.  I obtained my diploma in 2004 and began practicing at the Malvern Natural Health Centre straight away.  Continued professional development has enabled me to train in other therapies such as NLP, Emotional Freedom Therapy, Reiki I and II.  I am also a qualified counselor with a Higher National Diploma since 2002.  I am a full member of both the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

The problems that hypnotherapy can help with are many, such as:-

Anxiety Nail biting Sexual problems
Bloof pressure Pain control Sleeping difficulties
Blushing Panic attacks Stopping smoking
Compulsions Phobias Stress
Concentration Self confidence Stress control
Eating problems Self image Weight control
Improving memory Self-harm

My Experience

I have treated patients with many of the above problems with great success.  One of my greatest memories was of helping Mike, who was suffering from fear of heights.  His fear had become so bad that it was affecting his life greatly.  He was no longer able to work up a ladder, go on the holidays he loved, visit historic monuments, drive across the elevated section of the M4 without white knuckles and racing heart or visit his daughter in her flat.  After just 3 hypnotherapy treatments he was able to do these things.  Mike sent me a letter from France thanking me for my part in the holiday of a lifetime.  He then sent me a postcard of the Millennium Bridge with ‘my final challenge’ written on the back; he had just been standing in the middle of the bridge.  Mike was so pleased with his success that he wanted to be evangelical and allowed me to use his story in an article in the Worcester Evening News on May 25th 2005.

I am able to arrange appointments in the evening as well as the day time.  For a free telephone consultation, contact me:
