SUZY FILDES Dip ITEC, CThA
I trained in Malvern and qualified as a complementary therapist, in February 2007. I gained ITEC Diplomas, achieving distinctions.
The therapies I offer are:
Therapeutic massage, Indian Head massage, On-site massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
I am fully insured, and am a member of The Complementary Therapists Association.
I have been based at the Malvern Natural Health Centre since September 2008.
Since qualifying, I have attended courses and workshops to enhance my skills and build on the therapies I offer. I have studied Advanced Massage Techniques, Effective Stretching Techniques and Hopi Ear Candling.
Throughout the year, I attend several fairs and shows, offering taster treatments. These shows enable me to promote myself, and introduce many people to the benefits of complementary therapies.
A full consultation is carried out before the first treatment, and all clients’ details are treated in the strictest of confidence. The treatments are tailored to meet the client’s individual needs.
Although most of the appointments are carried out at the Malvern Natural Health Centre, I can offer home visits by arrangement.
If you are arranging a hen party or a get together with friends, why not consider having a ‘Pamper party’? These can be carried out at a venue to suit you. Therapies offered are: Reflexology/ foot massage, Indian Head massage or (depending on the availability of space) therapeutic massage to the back, neck and shoulders using oils. Please contact me for further details.
A treatment that involves the manipulation of soft tissue for therapeutic purposes, using oils such as sweet almond oil or grape seed oil etc. Aromatherapy oils can also be used.
Therapeutic massage treatments help ease stress and tension and associated aches and pains.
A fully clothed seated massage that uses firm but gentle techniques, to relax and relieve the build up of tension and stress related symptoms.
Traditional Indian head massage concentrates on the head and hair. The treatments now include work on the upper back, neck, shoulders and upper arms. These are important energy centres of the body where tension tends to accumulate. It also works on an emotional level, instilling in the receiver a deep sense of wellbeing.
ON SITE MASSAGE (Seated Acupressure)
A convenient, non-intrusive form of massage that can be performed in the office, at home or wherever suits the client.
A series of effective techniques and movements based on traditional acupressure and massage are used on the back, neck, shoulders, scalp, arms and hands.
On site massage is a short (10 – 30 minutes), fully clothed seated massage.
AROMATHERAPY
A natural therapy involving the therapeutic use of essential oils to attain a physical, spiritual and mental health equilibrium.
The healing power of essential oils, which are extracted from plants, has been known in cultures worldwide for over 4000 years.
Essential oils can be applied to the body in many different ways via inhalation, compresses and in the bath. However the most effective method of application is massage.
Following a consultation, the appropriate essential oils are selected and blended to suit the client's individual needs.
REFLEXOLOGY
A gentle and relaxing treatment applied to the feet (or hands), that can help many conditions, both physical and emotional.
A combination of massage and pressure are applied to specific areas of the feet, which correspond to glands and organs of the body.
These movements rebalance the functions of the body systems, promoting health and relaxation.
